I remember my grandmother making this jam as I sat watching on the kitchen stool. I used to think how magical it was when the colour suddenly changed to bright pink, as soon as it was cooked. This jam is my favourite on a crumpet with a little guilty butter too! It’s also delicious on a cheese platter, as an alternative to quince paste. Our quinces are grown in Cape Schanck.
