About Sam

BatchMade was started in 2017 by myself Sam Talbot. I started small, initially being sold through one restaurant in Sorrento, Victoria and as at mid 2023 we were stocked in 40 outlets down the eastern seaboard from Bundaberg to Launceston. In particular, the brand is well known and supported on the Mornington Peninsula, where we source the fruit and vegetables primarily from and where the product is made.

The jams, chutneys and pickles are made in small batches to give the best taste, aroma and colour, hence the name BatchMade. There’s an alchemy that comes from using my grandmother’s hand written recipe book as inspiration to craft my preserves.

I often trade surplus home grown fruit or vegetables for some of our preserves.  Contact us if you have a glut of fruit or vegetables that you would like to trade. 

A year ago, I had to ‘shutter’ my business while I dealt with some health issues and subsequently lost my leg. I was able to re-launch BatchMade in May this year and am working to make all the delicious condiments that you know and love.
