About Sam


BatchMade is owned and operated by Sam Talbot (me) and established in April 2017. We specialise in using Mornington Peninsula fruit and vegetables to craft our small batch jams, chutneys and pickles.

I started cooking with my grandmother and learnt to make jams and chutneys using home grown fruit and vegetables. Luckily, I inherited my grandma's hand written recipe book and have adapted many of our current recipes from it. 

I spent almost 30 years working in the clothing industry sourcing, developing, producing and teaching fashion for men, women and kids. Until a tap on my shoulder reminded me about the quality of life and BatchMade was born. 

Now my ideal day is spent in the kitchen cooking jams, chutneys and pickles for BatchMade. We like to source locally grown produce from the 'Pen' where possible. And often trade surplus home grown fruit or vegetables for some of our preserves. Contact us if you have a glut of fruit or vegetables that you would like to trade. 

Our preserves are also stocked at select gourmet food stores and cafes around Australia. 

I'm back at the farmer's markets again which is so exciting. BatchMade is at Abbotsford Convent on the 1st Saturday of the month and Elwood Primary School on the 2nd Saturday of the month.
